PictureThomas Barquee
Thomas Barquee was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1963.  At an early age, he studied classical keyboard and piano and became interested in pop music in his teens.  Since the 1990s, Barquee has performed and recorded his own music, and produced and arranged beautiful albums for numerous artists, including Mirabai Ceiba, Snatam Kaur, Peace Family, GuruGanesha Singh, Guru Singh, Krishna Kaur, Girish, Satkirin Kaur and Ajeet Kaur.   Based in Los Angeles, Thomas has been consistently engaged in this project since March.

PictureZimfira Poloz
Zimfira Poloz is globally recognized as an expert in choral artistry for young voices.  Zimfira established her musical credentials in Kazakhstan, serving as founder and principal of the nation’s first choir school.  In 2020, Zimfira Poloz celebrates her 17th year as the Artistic Director of Hamilton Children’s Choir.  She teaches in the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto.  When Zimfira came to a class of mine in January and expressed her interest in contributing to a Climate Emergency Anthem, I began to broaden my search for musical collaborators.

PictureAnonymous

Anonymous  The first contribution to our project was made anonymously.  Friends of my student, Aaron Dobkin graciously offered their performance at no cost and without even the chance of being properly acknowledged.  We are very grateful to the anonymous brass ensemble who performed and recorded Chopin's Funeral March, the first movement of the composition in February.

PictureKarina Skye
Karina Skye  Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and recording artist, Karina has released over 150 songs and titles.  The genres of her original music range from acoustic to electronic, from yoga mantras and meditation music to pop, freestyle, and Rock.  Originally from Brazil, she lives with her family in south Florida.  I first met Karina at the 3HO Winter Solstice Sadhana in Florida in 2018.  Once she returns from maternity leave, we are hopeful she can help us add a Brazilian hip hop voice to our music.

Zen Wang is a proud graduate of Vancouver Film School.  He is extremely blessed to be in the art department of Film and TV productions in Toronto, Canada.  Before that he worked as a Nuclear Project Engineer for nuclear power plants.  His unconventional career jump results in unique and quirky insights into the mysteries of life.  In brief, Zen’s purpose in life is to Share Stories that Matter with People who give a Damn.  Zen Wang did a series of teaching videos with me in 2015.  He agreed to help with the final stage of our production, the making of our music video, back in March.  zenwang.net
