Our Production Team
Thomas Barquee was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1963. At an early age, he studied classical keyboard and piano and became interested in pop music in his teens. Since the 1990s, Barquee has performed and recorded his own music, and produced and arranged beautiful albums for numerous artists, including Mirabai Ceiba, Snatam Kaur, Peace Family, GuruGanesha Singh, Guru Singh, Krishna Kaur, Girish, Satkirin Kaur and Ajeet Kaur. Based in Los Angeles, Thomas has been consistently engaged in this project since March 2020. He is the musical mind, composer, arranger, producer and collaborator who pulls everything together.
Quintegrity The first contribution to our project was made anonymously. Friends of my student, Aaron Dobkin graciously offered their performance at no cost and without even the chance of being properly acknowledged. We are very grateful to the Quintegrity ensemble who performed and recorded Chopin's Funeral March, the first movement of the composition in February.
Karina Skye Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and recording artist, Karina has released over 150 songs and titles. The genres of her original music range from acoustic to electronic, from yoga mantras and meditation music to pop, freestyle, and Rock. Originally from Brazil, she lives with her family in south Florida. I first met Karina at the 3HO Winter Solstice Sadhana in Florida in 2018. She came back from maternity leave and contributed the amazing Brazilian hip hop voice "Ahora ahora!" to The Time.
Through his rich connections in the music world, Thomas found and directed many wonderful and talented people in the production of our anthem. These include: Justin Beauchamp (vocals for Ma & We are the World), Luigi Recca (percussion and vocals for Ma & We are the World), Anou (vocals for Ma & We are the World), Rebecca Lynn Schneider (vocals for Ma & We are the World) and Simone Cello (guitars).
Other contributors are: Danny Guarino (vocals for Fairy Stories & Now is the Time), Cleva Thoughts (vocals for Fairy Stories & Now is the Time), Chan Yong (Mandarin vocals for Now is the Time), and Khaled Halani (Arabic vocals for Now is the Time). Thomas Barquee contributed vocals, keyboards, programming, bass and arrangements. And just when we needed them, the Makkar family stepped up to chant, "We are the world!"
I am delighted to share with you the news that Bogdan Djukic has agreed to join our efforts. Bogdan is a uniquely gifted violinist known for his work as a member of Bowfire and Beyond the Pale, and as an accompanist with Mirabai Ceiba on tour. He will play the Finale where Mother Earth dances the Dance of Life.

Siri Kartar Kaur is a gifted artist. Aside from dozens of paintings, she has illustrated books and album covers. Siri Kartar is also an accomplished martial artist (Gatka). Our collaboration and friendship started in 2017, when Siri Kartar Kaur agreed to create the artwork for the biography of Siri Singh Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji (Yogi Bhajan) which I had written. In the photo you can see the murals she made for the skylight at Guru Ram Das Ashram, Los Angeles. She has applied her unique skill set to create the logo for our climate crisis anthem. sirikartargallery.com
