In 1983, my spiritual teacher Yogi Bhajan gave me the privilege of writing his life story. The title he said was to be "Messenger from the Guru's House." It has been a great adventure finding and gathering together many inspiring stories and finding ways to most effectively tell the big story.
In April of 2008 I began to email chapters out each month to anyone interested. I started with an email list of about 2,000 people around the world.
Messenger from the Guru's House shares many of the inspirations and experiences that formed the personality of Yogi Bhajan from his childhood through his youth, to his life as a grown man in India. The narrative continues as he leaves the security of the life he had established there to go to faraway North America to teach hippies and all kinds of people powerful truths of which they might only have dreamed and to found what he declared a "Spiritual Nation."
Since 2008, I have sent out forty chapters (taking us to 1971 in the story) twice. Currently (2015), I am waiting for legal issues surrounding access to the Yogi Bhajan Archive in New Mexico to be sorted out so I might begin my final research with a view to publishing the biography as a book, or a series of books. Likely I will be crowd funding the final leg of the research - travel, accommodation, and other expenses - and the costs of printing and distribution.
If you would like to read Yogi Bhajan's amazing story some day soon, please send me your prayers. And if you would like to financially contribute when I start my campaign or to offer other help (research, layout, artwork, design, air miles, accommodation) please drop me a line: [email protected].
Thank you.
